I have to start off by saying it was a tough decision to make. I’ve never left my my friends and family to embark on a journey to a place where I knew no one. But my world as I knew it was too tiny and there’s so much out there I didn’t know of.
I visited Europe last month and stayed in this…
What a beautiful picture of Andy Whitfield! I’ve never seen it before.
I think it is important to propagate positive images of Somalia to combat the negative ones that strip away people’s dignity and self-worth by not ACKNOWLEDGING their amazing resilience. We don’t realize this, but aside from the damage it has created on an international platform… the implications are also tragic to the subconscious state of the folks in the diaspora. Despite our internal issues we were once a rich country that had the embodiments of a great nation… lets not forget that or lose hope. And above all, lets not let our stories be told by others!

There are 100’s of Kony’s across the African continent, who have done worser atrocities and some of them are still in power, with the backing of Western support. So what makes this one the personification of evil? The one that will change the world for the better, if he’s captured and or killed.
Raising awareness is not enough. Uganda needs help to build itself up, not only that the world knows about that they have suffered in the hands of Kony 4-5 years ago. He’s no longer active there, he’s more likely in Sudan or Congo.
This is one big hype that will eat itself from the inside pretty soon after it’s deadline next month.
If you really want to make a difference, donate to the charities that are really trying to help rebuild the country.
